Reading examinations for general and academic training are frequently scored at the same level. The texts in the Academic Reading Test, on the other hand, may be more difficult than those in the General Training Test.
Duration of the test: 60 minutes (for both Academic and General tests)
Practice reading a range of things in English to develop the habit of reading quickly. To make it simpler to discover answers afterwards, read each question carefully before answering it. If you can, make a list of possible responses as you read. Make notes or highlight any section of the text if you are taking the IELTS on a computer. Begin by skimming through the material to get a general notion of what it's about. Once you've gotten a feel for it, read it slowly and carefully, bearing in mind the questions you need to answer. Because you are not need to apply your own knowledge in order to solve the questions, all of the solutions will be provided in the text. To prevent omitting them, read attentively. As you answer, double-check that you're using the correct spellings from the passage. There may be questions to test your comprehension of the reading at times. For example, the question may be on the theme, highlighting specific words or ideas that represent the passages' main point. It's a good idea to underline important words as you read. For example, if there are critical dates, make a note of them! When a question is posed around the same time, it becomes easy to notice them. Make sure your spellings are right at all times, especially when copying from the passage. If you're taking IELTS on paper, make a note of your answers on the answer sheet. You will not be given any further time to transfer any of your responses later.
In the IELTS Reading module, you will be asked a variety of questions. Multiple choice questions, True/False/Not Given questions, Yes/No/Not Given questions, Matching Questions, and Sentence completion questions are among the questions on the list. You must thoroughly prepare and practise for each of these questions.
Make use of strategies such as skimming and scanning, and make sure you practise until you're a pro on test day. In addition, you must build skills for each sort of inquiry. Concentrate on only one sort of inquiry every day and devise ways for locating and recording answers without wasting a lot of time.
They will usually be informational in the General Training IELTS module, similar to what you would read in a pamphlet, newspaper, or magazine. The passages in the Academic IELTS module will cover three different academic themes. Before taking the test, you do not need to have any prior knowledge of these topics.
